Rob Gould. Keyboards.
Rob
is the founder member and principle tunesmith of Fula.
A talented keyboard player and composer, he has written and recorded
over 300 songs. Between 1993 - 1994 he composed the soundtrack for
the award-winning audio-visual presentation 'Caves of Thunder' by
Gavin Newman, which received a standing ovation when it was premiered
at the Montgomery Theatre in Sheffield.
He has played in a variety of bands over the years - incorporating
a range of styles, from the gothic Masque (featuring Greg on drums,
and original Fula vocalist Nadeen Plant), the progressive Dr. Volospion,
to the Zappa-esque Some Strange Quarters. He formed Fula in 1995
when, having a selection of new compositions written on the keyboard,
he needed other musicians to complete the sound.
Rob's first time on stage with Nigel was when he guested on reed
organ for a reunion of Nigel's old folk-rock combo 'The Sweaty Dogs'
for the Buxton Festival Fringe in 1995.
